ETERNAL SECURITY — PART 2

Dave, what are the implications/ramifications if eternal security can be lost?

Crucial Questions if Eternal Security Can Be Lost

If, for example, our eternal salvation can be lost, some big questions are raised:

  • What sins will cause a man to lose his salvation? Where is the definitive list in the Bible?
  • How does a woman know when she has lost her salvation?
  • How does a man get saved all over again? Should he only believe? Believe what, because he has already believed in Christ as Savior if he was saved at all. Should he turn from his sins? Then salvation comes through something other than faith alone in Christ alone.
  • How can a woman who does not believe in eternal security share the gospel with confidence? Her message must be “Jesus will save you eternally . . . maybe.”
  • How can a man grow confidently in his fellowship with God when he is not sure that his relationship to Him is secure, to begin with?

You can see the problems that are created by the view that salvation can be lost. That view instead seems to create many more problems than the supposed problems created by eternal security.
